The webinars are also recorded for review purposes.

They may be accessed at any time during the 30 days that follow their live broadcast.

Presented by Peter M. Litchfield, Ph.D.

FOUR WORKSHOPS (WS):

WS-1: RESPIRATORY FITNESS:Behavioral Physiology
WS-2: DYSFUNCTIONAL BREATHING: Behavioral Analysis
WS-3: ADAPTIVE BREATHING: Behavior Modification
WS-4: BREATHING BUSINESS: Efficacy, Relevancy,Economics

Few people, lay or professional, (1) know that breathing directly regulates body chemistry, including pH, electrolyte balance, blood flow, hemoglobin chemistry, and kidney function, and (2) think of breathing as a behavior subject to the same principles of learning as any other behavior, including the role of motivation, reinforcement, emotion, attention, perception, and memory. This Workshop Series brings together these two considerations in practical ways relevant to people everywhere who have unwittingly learned breathing behaviors that compromise respiration and acid-base balance.

Participants learn to help clients discover how they have learned to breathe, how their breathing habits may be affecting them, and how to effectively self-regulate breathing based on acquiring new breathing habits. They learn how to integrate CapnoLearning« into their practices, a breathing learning program for clients based on the principles of respiratory physiology, behavioral analysis, behavior modification, phenomenological exploration, awareness training, cognitive learning, and capnograph biofeedback (real-time CO2 feedback).

The four 1-day workshops are about (1) the physiology and psychology of dysfunctional breathing habits, (2) the identification of specific dysfunctional breathing behaviors, their effects, and the factors that trigger and sustain them, (3) self-regulation methods relevant to helping clients to learn new breathing habits consistent with healthy respiratory biochemistry, and (4) business modeling and planning for providing breathing learning services.

Capnography instrumentation is used extensively during WS-2 and WS-3, but are NOT required for participation. They may be rented from the Institute, if desired ($275.00 for ten days); for more information, email the Institute at education@bp.edu.

About our Webinars
We broadcast "live" from our Santa Fe NM USA Studio.

It's like having an on-location front row seat.

See live video of the presenter and participants as they speak, while simultaneously observing other participants.

See the live physiology of workshop participants, and volunteer clients, as if they were seated directly in front of you, along with a simultaneous live video of the person being monitored in the corner of the screen.

The presenter will do live physiological learning sessions with participants from around the world, who have capnograph respiratory monitoring instrumentation at their location.  Everyone gets to see what's happening.

PowerPoint presentation and file sharing (e.g., articles and illustrations) are organized around numerous practical sessions and demonstrations throughout the webinars. And, participants may present their own materials for all to see.

Participants may interact at any time with the presenter and/or participants by "raising their hands," or sending written questions/comments (privately or not). And, they control their own video and audio.

Feedback, in the form emoticons, questions, and comments, is requested continuously and is greatly appreciated. Requests are "numbered" so that the presenter can respond to them in the proper order.

Participants receive about 40 files of valuable information, including forms and 265 Power Point slides, along with a 30-day opportunity to review the webinars by video streaming the recorded sessions following the live Series.
